Tyler Yeom, associate director brand campaign, Cheil: Tamara is shaping the future of the new agency model, combining exceptional account service skills and account planning capabilities. Since joining Cheil in 2019, Tamara has played a key role in expanding the agency business across the region, handling key clients ranging from UAE to KSA. The future of the agency depends on talents like her.

Career highlights

One year in advertising counts as 15 human years in other industries. I’ve spent seven years already, so you can imagine how flavourful my experience has been. It all started back when I was studying marketing and anthropology at AUB and thought to myself how powerful it is to work on convincing people to buy something they (don’t actually) “need”. From then, I jumped on my curiosity and trotted the globe one brand and one country at a time – from Lebanon to Kuwait to reach where I am now, at Cheil UAE managing Samsung Gulf and Samsung MENA.

Guiding principles

Pick your battles. In this industry, we don’t always get to do what we think should be done, but you only have a few battle cards so choose how you want to use them wisely.

Dream job

A baker – mainly sweets, because I have a sweet tooth. I enjoy the process of baking – watching how it goes into the oven as something with no form and comes out as a sensational piece of heaven –if I don’t burn it, of course.

Side hustle

Entertaining my friends and family with my quirkiness.
