Lynagh quits as managing partner of LightBlue

Phil Lynagh has quit as managing partner of Dubai-based experiential agency LightBlue.

The reasons for his departure are unknown, although it is understood that the split is amicable. LightBlue will continue with the remaining partners, Ian Lynagh and Dave Balfour.

It is not yet known what Lynagh’s next position will be, although he is believed to be weighing up his options. Lynagh’s brother, Ian, set up the agency with Balfour in 2007, with Lynagh joining the agency in November 2009. The agency embarked on a new business growth spurt after Lynagh’s arrival, bagging clients such as Nokia, Johnnie Walker Double Black and Beck’s. The boutique agency’s roster of major clients includes Sony Playstation, HP, de Vere & Partners and African & Eastern.

Lynagh has worked in the region since 1994 and was managing director of FP7 Dubai before moving to Asia as regional director and EVP for Momentum Worldwide. He joined LightBlue following a short spell as managing director of Memac Ogilvy Riyadh. All of LightBlue’s managing partners are former MCN employees and their backgrounds are rooted in below-the-line. Its office is off Sheikh Zayed Road.
